'The Thankful' Campaign

'The Thankful' campaign was a project I completed at Fort Zumwalt North Middle School to increase gratitude among the students. The video also adds information about importance of attendance and the counseling center. In our society, we can get caught up in the fast pace of life and sometimes we forget to appreciate everything we have in life. The video had pictures of students, and to be mindful of confidentiality I cannot post the video.

College and Career Readiness Workshops

I created the College and Career Readiness Workshop Series at O'Fallon Township High School. The workshop targeted sophomores and consisted of three different workshops. All three workshops involved educational, individual, and applicable components. The first was an activity to introduce different careers and the components that go along with those careers (i.e. education, salary, and vacation time). The second workshop provided students the opportunity to take two interest inventories which allowed students to see different career clusters. The third workshop focused on comparing colleges, scholarships, and financial aid information.
Undergraduate Research

I have always had a great interest in body image and the effects the media's image of a woman's body has on women and young girls. In my Junior and Senior year of undergrad, I completed this research project. After a suggestion from my professor, I submitted my paper and research for evaluation to present at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research. I was accepted and presented in April 2017. While I was completing this research, I discovered just how powerful research and numerical data can be in supporting change. In my school counseling career, I plan to use data to drive my actions and interventions.
