At North High School, a program called Connect gives a smaller classroom setting for students with severe emotional needs. Most of these students have a mental health diagnosis, such as Anxiety, ADHD, Bipolar, or Depression. Once a week I led small groups on different topics in the classroom setting. 

After observing a need for an intervention for student's that have lost a parent, I implemented a small grief group at North Middle School. The group met once a week and allowed for the discussion of emotions, reality, and coping mechanisms students faced after losing one or both parents. 

To ensure a smooth transition, I lead new student groups. I have led new student groups at O'Fallon Township High School as well as North Middle School. Through my data collection, students that participate in a new student program report feeling more welcome and engaged.
